Full Job Description

We are seeking to employ and train 4 craft apprentices. You will receive broad-based training covering many aspects of Aerospace Manufacture, specialising as a craft apprentice. You can become a Skilled Fitter / Welder., You will receive broad-based training covering many aspects of Aerospace Manufacture, specialising as either a craft apprentice. Following your apprenticeship, your first appointment will be one of the following roles: Skilled Fitter or skilled Welder When onsite apprentices will work alongside trained staff to enhance their skills, putting into practise what they have learnt at the College.

Essential - 5 GCSEs at 9 - 4 / A

  • - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification., Shadowing skilled fitters / welders and manufacturing engineers
  • Fitting Welding Performance acceptance testing Continuous improvements activities Using: Joining Techniques - Vacuum Brazing, Welding capability Heat Treatment and Chemical Processing capability Components produced from a variety of different materials Apprentices will be required to comply with all ethical, environmental and safety regulations. While onsite apprentices will rotate during year 2 throughout departments to ensure competency in all required skill sets., Posseses the necessary enthusiasm, drive and desire to succeed Ability to use own initiative and be part of a team Commitment to attending college and work Positive Attitude Skills Required: Excellent communication skills Able to demonstrate a clear interest to work in the manufacturing sector Problem Solver Good Communicator Future Prospects: You can become a Subject Matter Expert in Skilled Fitter, Welder or Sheet Metal Worker on completion of the apprenticeship Training to be provided:
  • Engineering Basic Skills training - off the job full time at In-Comm Training, Telford.
  • NVQ Level 3
  • A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3)
  • In house training in line with your requirements.
  • Other Information: Things to Consider: You must be able to confirm your ability to travel between In-Comm training site in Telford and Collins (HS Marston) site location in Wolverhampton
