Full Job Description

Work upon own initiative, with a minimum of supervision on the diagnosis and assessment of available options during the repair of faults in a wide range of engineering and building components and fittings, inclusive of progressing audit inspections and the production of suitable inspection reports.
Liaise with the Planning and Scheduling Manager and/or Estates Officer with regards to Engineering / Plumbing repairs and maintenance, and to request the supply of appropriate materials.
Work with the Planning and Scheduling Manager and/or Estates Officer Engineering / Plumbing in using the 'CAFM' system to receive, update, and close off requests, and update records.
Provide technical support to other members of the Estates Department. Liaise and work in partnership with other Estates Staff, Contractors, where work requires multi-person/ multi-trade input and any other duties identified by the Estates Management Team.
Interpret engineering / plumbing specifications and have knowledge of basic materials, their characteristics and suitability for a given section of work, diagnose simple faults in engineering / plumbing systems and rectify them accordingly.
Construct, assemble, erect, and install minor works for the upgrade and alteration, and alterations to assist the maintenance and development of services. Ensuring the provision of a safe, secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Undertake essential reactive, and emergency repair work, alterations and general maintenance to the building infrastructure using specialist knowledge of engineering and or plumbing equipment and infrastructure.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Craftsperson/ Plumber to join our Estates team on a permanent basis. This position is well-suited to a hard working and enthusiastic person who is looking to gain experience in a health care setting., 'Time served' Apprenticeship, NVQ III Plumbing or Engineering or City & Guild Level 3 Plumbing or Engineering
Extensive knowledge of mechanical and/or plumbing systems
Significant experience working in a complex engineering/building environment
Skilled in maintenance, fault finding, test and repair work on a wide range of complex engineering/plumbing services and equipment
Full UK Driving Licence, Disability Confident
