Full Job Description

A temporary opportunity is available for a Craftsperson (Overhead Lines predominately Towers) based within the Projects team at Pool for a period of up to 12 months (subject to review).

In this role you will be required to undertake construction, maintenance, replacement and repair of overhead lines up to and including 132kV.

Candidates are required to have Grade A C / 4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level qualification in both subjects., A flexible attitude is essential, as you will be required to undertake other duties to assist the team in meeting its objectives.

In addition, you will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties.

Operationally we require you to live within approximately 30 minutes of the depot you are applying for.

Please note, where job roles involve working at height and the use of Personal Fall Protection Equipment, there are restrictions on the maximum weight of the individual.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working on overhead cables or at height, however consideration will be given to those candidates who have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with appropriate training.

You must be able to work on your own initiative as part of a small team, making on the spot decisions as required and working to tight deadlines.
