Full Job Description

This position involves providing highly specialist speech and language therapy services to clients with complex communication needs, including those with cleft lip and palate, and craniofacial conditions. The post holder will be responsible for delivering evidence-based interventions, managing a complex caseload, and contributing to service development, audit, and clinical governance. The role requires collaborative working within multidisciplinary teams and the provision of expert advice to professionals, carers, and clients., Clinical

  • Conduct highly specialised assessments, treatment plans, and outcome evaluations for clients with complex communication difficulties.
  • Provide specialist advice to professionals, clients, and carers, ensuring care is tailored to individual needs, including cultural and linguistic considerations.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge on current practices, adapting clinical interventions based on the latest evidence.
  • Manage the security and maintenance of equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Communicate complex clinical information to clients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring empathy and clarity, particularly in challenging situations.
  • Motivate clients and carers to engage in the therapeutic process and contribute to decision-making.
  • Build productive relationships with individuals experiencing stress or communication barriers, demonstrating advanced interpersonal skills.
  • To evaluate national and international standards of care and ensure that speech and language therapy care is delivered effectively to these standards.
  • To transcribe speech disorders relating to cleft/craniofacial conditions disordered speech and make appropriate management plan.
