Full Job Description
Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for a Creative Lead to develop the world and narrative of our Warhammer 40,000 IP to inspire fans around the world!
Highly organised, you'll manage and guide a team of writers and editors as they turn your briefs into amazing stories and rich background material for our Warhammer 40,000 Codexes, books and boxed games. This is a senior position for one of Games Workshop's biggest brands, and is responsible for setting the vision and narrative for the future of Warhammer 40,000.
Decisive and a strong communicator, you'll use your knowledge of the publication process to effectively plan, communicate and deliver the written background sections of our books, boxed games and digital products. We are looking for someone with significant management experience within a creative environment who can set clear goals and give clear feedback to ensure our content creators know exactly what is required.
Your creative judgement will be at the heart of it all as you coordinate writing projects from start to finish, ensuring that the work is done to schedule and meets our quality standards. Day to day, you'll write briefs, outlines and proposals to support IP development, narratives and characters so a previous background in editorial or creative writing and planning is essential.
Innovative and passionate about our Warhammer IP, we'll look to you to use your in-depth knowledge of Warhammer 40,000 to develop and maintain new and existing narratives and narrative characters for all our books and boxed games.
You'll be resolute in your commitment to raising the quality of our writing, using your experience of managing writers and your love of the craft of writing to get the best results. You'll ensure all Warhammer 40,000 IP is delivered with a consistent voice, tone and content and is of the highest standard.
At Games Workshop we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the company and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this we believe that what you are like, hence the attitude you show to work and the way you choose to behave is even more important than your skills and experience.
The Warhammer World site is based just outside of Nottingham city centre and benefits from a nearby tram stop and free onsite car parking.
In return for your hard work, you will receive 33 days holiday per year (including public holidays), matching contributory pension scheme up to 7.5%, profit share bonus (subject to GW meeting profit targets) and option to join our Share Save scheme. Oh and let's not forget, a staff discount of between 25% and 50% on our products!
