Full Job Description

We are seeking a Credit Control/AR Manager to oversee the Credit Control and Accounts Receivable functions. In this role, you will manage a small team, including a Credit Controller and AP/AR Assistant, and work closely with Tenanted Business Development Managers, Sales, Operations, and Management Accountants to ensure the smooth running of the accounts receivable process. Key responsibilities include managing aged debt, handling overdue payments, and ensuring invoices and credit notes are processed accurately and on time. You will also produce monthly debt movement reports, manage month-end close, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with rental agreement amendments. Opportunities for involvement in ad hoc finance projects and support for professional financial exams are available.,

  • Timely invoicing and credit note processing across all ledgers.
  • Generate monthly debt movement reports for the Tenanted Director, highlighting overdue debt.
  • Collaborate on tenant credit terms and decisions on releasing orders without full payment.
  • Manage month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee the aged debt ledger and perform credit control duties.
  • Support the Credit Controller with rent payments and order releases.
  • Lead and develop a small team.

    Prior experience in credit control and basic accounting knowledge (double entry, general and sub ledgers).
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and time management.
  • Ability to work effectively with non-finance staff and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Excel and strong data accuracy.
  • Previous experience managing people and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Qualifications:
  • Education to A-Level standard preferred.
  • Experience in credit control, ideally within a multi-site or franchisee business model.
  • Other Considerations:
  • Flexibility around annual leave is expected at key financial periods (month-end, half-year, and year-end).
