Full Job Description

Travelers Europe is looking for a Credit Control Team Lead to join our team in Redhill, Surrey. You will deputise and assist the Credit Control Manager in leading and directing the UK and Ireland Credit Control team towards its objectives. The two primary measures are to collect debt within agreed credit terms and minimise unallocated cash beyond one month old. Core activities included in this role are daily team management, representing Credit Control on key initiatives, and driving forward operational enhancements. Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company's discretion. This role is eligible for a new joiner referral bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the person who referred you could be eligible for this bonus What Will You Do?

  • Manage cash collection from the Companies' brokers within credit terms.
  • Directly manage the UK team, including recruitment, target setting and performance management needs, and the Ireland team when deputising for the Credit Control Manager.
  • Take responsibility and lead the implementation of key initiatives.
  • Working with the Credit Control manager, ensure the team is fully trained in agreed capabilities.
  • Working with the Credit Control manager, monitor the default debt escalation process to ensure relevant actions are taken on a timely basis.
  • Working with Credit Control manager to assist in Month End Reporting to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Working with the Credit Control manager, ensure broker statements are sent out on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Where required provide guidance to the team on specific broker accounts or insured collection cases.
  • Manage the premium credit confirmation process relevant to the two instalment providers.
  • Manage the receipting and cash allocations process.

  • Experience of directly managing a team.
  • Work experience in the general insurance industry preferred.
  • Good systems aptitude.
  • Good knowledge of Excel.
  • Proven track record of working with equivalent peer groups internal and external.
  • Ability to set and work within tight deadlines.
