Full Job Description

We are currently looking for an Apprentice Credit Controller to join our Credit Services team, this is a hybrid role where you will work from home and also in our Head office in Northampton. If you have excellent customer service, and are a team player then we want to hear from you!

In this role, we require an individual who is looking for a stable career and has a passion for helping others and is also eager to learn.

You will be engaging a lot with the team and supporting them on a daily basis, maintaining Service level agreements with incoming calls and emails. Actioning credit limits, preparing accounts for legal readiness to pass to the management team to review.

Tasks that you will undertake on a day to day basis:

  • Supporting the team with any incoming calls from operational stakeholders and customers

  • Call customers to pre-chase debt to ensure it is ready for payment when it falls due

  • Assist the collection of overdue debt in accordance with payment terms.

  • Sending out overdue letters in line with the monthly timetable.

  • Monitor and ensure accounts are placed on stop if they remain unpaid

  • Escalation of accounts to management where required i.e repayment plans, complex queries, adverse information, legals


  • This is a hybrid working role, whilst you are on your 4 week training plan we ask that you come into the office for your benefit to get the full experience of the role and support if and where required.

    You will complete a 12 month apprenticeship programme whilst working within the team

    We are a central support function within the business ensuring all of our Key Stakeholders are being provided with the best customer service as possible.

    Dealing with all trade customers, from chasing for account balances, dealing with all queries, managing the risk’s vs’ rewards , issuing copy documents as and when required, maintaining our GDPR standards are being adhered to as per our Credit Policy.

    Our skilled controllers manage difficult conversations regarding the customers ability to pay any outstanding monies, off the back of these difficult conversations comes many rewards where we help to regrow our customers business to help them become the best in
