Credit Underwriter - 12 month parental leave

Allianz Trade are looking for a Credit Underwriter to join our Credit Underwriting team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Assistant Head of Credit Underwriting, you will be responsible for ensuring the most effective credit limit service in terms of quality of decision, turnaround time and customer communication.,

• Effectively monitor and implement Risk Business Model by agreeing prompt limit decisions, monitoring and providing quality communication within agreed service levels so that all other LBU's receive a quality limit service.
• Assess credit limits consistently and correctly within prescribed times in order to ensure renewal, new business targets and loss ratios are achieved.
• Provide a pro-active service level to a dedicated customer portfolio according to PH classification.
• Monitor risks in accordance with Group Quality Standards so that loss ratios are managed within budget.
• Proactively reassess business procedures and recommend changes on an on-going basis to reduce costs and improve customer service.
• Meet clients, buyers and brokers in order to keep loss ratios to a minimum, maximise cover and ensure renewal and new business targets are achieved.
• Support commercial in steering customer loss ratio and implement actions necessary to ensure or restore profitability of portfolio.
  
  Knowledge of credit and/or financial products
• Some exposure to client/account management activities
Technical skills:
• Strong business/finance assessment skills
• Knowledge of EH underwriting standards
• Knowledge of export underwriting, export risk assessment, export finance, political risk, export practice and export credit management (if applicable)
• Good working knowledge of LBU IT systems
• Commercially aware
Interpersonal skills:
• Good communicator
• Credible with customers and internal stakeholders
• Strong customer relationship skills.
