Full Job Description
At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose - to improve people's lives.
Under the direction of the Crematorium Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering day to day operations to ensure the crematorium, the 2 x chapels and the mortuary facility are maintained in an effective manner and provide a compassionate, caring and professional bereavement service, including being in attendance at funeral services and leading the interment of ashes with the bereaved. You will be directly involved in the cremation process and the regulations governing this. The ideal candidate should hold the ICCM Crematorium Technicians Training Scheme certificate of proficiency or be prepared to undertake this course if appointed to the role. You will also be involved in maintaining the grounds surrounding the Crematorium. This is a customer facing role that requires excellent customer service skills, demonstrating empathy and behaviours appropriate to this sensitive setting at all times. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and
gardens adjacent to the crematorium to a high quality. You will be expected to be entirely flexible with the hours of work as this is dictated by funeral requirements.
