Crime Management Administration Support Volunteer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Crime Management Unit of Sussex Police for a volunteer to join the team as a Crime Management Administration Unit Assistant. Working as part of Local Policing, the Crime Management Unit provides vital back-office support to officers and staff across Sussex dealing with the administration of reports of crimes and crime related incidents. The role will assist in supporting a busy team who deal with a range of crime related admin functions including the updating of crime records and the management of the Force's crime file storage areas., From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. The role of Crime Management Assistant Volunteer will have responsibility for the management of the crime file storage area, ensuring files are added correctly and retrieving paperwork when required by colleagues. The role will also assist with the administration of victim letters and updates to partnership agencies including Victim Support. Full internal training will be given in both areas. Please note the role will be based at Haywards Heath Police Station. Working hours of the team are Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00, and ideally the volunteer will support one full day or two part days per week., We will reimburse any travel expenses you may incur whilst volunteering and we have recognition schemes in place for us to formally show our appreciation for your service. The successful candidate would ideally have the following skills:

• GCSE grade C or above or equivalent in English.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good keyboard skills and be competent in the use of Information Technology, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Previous administration experience.
• The ability to work as part of a motivated team.
