Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Spectrum for you to join a dynamic team committed to supporting people with drug and/or alcohol issues on their recovery journey. As a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker with Change Grow Live you'll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be. The role of the Criminal Justice recovery worker will mainly support people coming through integrated offender management service as well as other areas of criminal justice involvement including courts and probation. This role includes one-to-one key work, delivering our group work programmes, case management and interacting with partner agencies, particularly police, prisons, probation and courts, to ensure people accessing Spectrum can improve and change their lives. Where: Based in Stevenage however this is a countywide role and will occasionally require you to travel,

  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Children's & adult safeguarding
  • Liaison and partnership working including police, probation, courts, prisons.
  • Substance awareness
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination

    Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and/or experience of working within a similar field
  • Able to drive
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others, Please note you will be required to work flexibly across operational sites as required therefore it is essential to hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car. This role requires an enhanced DBS and Police/Prison clearance.
