Full Job Description

We are looking for cross sectional experienced HCPC registered Radiographers to lead the day to day running of the CT team at Mile End Hospital. Whilst the role is based at Mile End.
This post gives you the opportunity to build on your clinical expertise in CT and to be involved in the set up and running of the CT at our new centre. Encouragement will be given to staff who wish to pursue post graduate studies in CT.
The site currently has a GE Revolution EVO scanner (static) and a Siemens Somaton go.Top (mobile). There are also development works for a 3rd scanner for 2024 as part of the CDC.
We will be providing a service to a wide range of cancer, urgent, rheumatology and routine outpatients in the East and north east of London.
It is essential to have good organisational skills, good working relationships and be motivated and able to demonstrate how you can motivate others within the team. Training of radiographers in CT will be essential, as will the review and implementation of new scanning protocols in conjunction with Radiologists and ensuring all staff are aware of the new studies/procedures.
The candidate will be required to work full time on a rota covering Monday-Sunday 08:00-20:00 shift system, To lead the technical /radiographic staffing across site and further develop an efficient CT service at Mile End Hospital (MEH). Working with the CT Lead Radiographer to develop and maintain the AE CT service, standardising protocols, managing the patient bookings and waiting lists.
To work within the Band 7 CT team in organizing and overseeing the training of radiographers and students in all aspects of CT scanning, including comprehensive competency assessments in conjunction with the CT Superintendent.
To provide an effective day to day operational lead radiographer role for CT.
In the absence of the CT lead to assume the role of leading the staff within CT.
In conjunction with the CT Managers, promote the continuous improvement in service delivery and quality within all areas of the CT service using modern methods to improve productivity, lead in the delivery of service and workforce transformation, and re-design where required.
The Post-holder will manage the work of staff in the department and develop a culture in which members of staff are continuously improving the delivery of high quality services. The post-holder will ensure the development and acceptance of challenging but realistic objectives for staff and through leadership, motivation and systematic performance management, achieve the required results.
