Full Job Description

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is a small Council with big values. We are looking for a person with an interest and enthusiasm for making collections available to the wider community. As Curator you will be responsible for the day to day care and documentation of the museum's varied collections making them accessible to the museum's audiences. In particular you will be working on a collections audit to improve knowledge of our collections. You will work as part of the museum team contributing towards the museum's public programming including exhibitions, events and outreach programmes. The job requires regular lifting and carrying. The postholder will act as a key holder which will require opening and closing the museum (8am) shared with Museum & Arts Manager.

Experience of caring for a range of museum collections including environmental monitoring, cleaning, stores work and pest monitoring.

Experience of documenting museum collections using both paper and computerised systems to include both current and retrospective documentation.

Experience of working on exhibitions, events or on outreach projects.

Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (History, Archaeology, Anthropology, or Art History)

I.T literate able to use Microsoft Office, Excel and use of collections databases.
