Full Job Description

CURE HIP is a role which assists patients admitted to Royal Bolton Hospital to stop smoking. The CURE Project' which has only been recently launched at Royal Bolton Hospital is a new tobacco dependency treatment service to help patients go smoke free.
The role will include:
1. Undergo a thorough work-based training around CURE.
2. Undertake ongoing training and development under supervision in order to be able to support patients to stop smoking by:
+ Identify and engage with individuals who smoke
+ Support and motivate individuals to be able to become smoke free
+ Advise and support people to find and use appropriate services to remain smoke free
+ Provide people with accurate, up-to-date and reliable information about smoking
+ Work within the policies and procedures of Bolton NHS Foundation Trust Develop all necessary skills and knowledge to facilitate progression to working autonomously as a CURE HIP., This role involves working with patients who smoke and we aim to promote and drive a healthier lifestyle to support patients to stop smoking.
The intervention will enable the CURE HIP to motivate and encourage the patient to improve their health, wellbeing and lifestyle through motivational support techniques around stopping smoking., + Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of CURE Service
+ Develop knowledge around the broad concepts of health and well-being and the barriers to changing health behaviours, focusing on smoking
+ Attend regular team/staff meetings and other team events when requested
+ Attend all specified training sessions
+ Respect individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of individuals and their families and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to those needs
+ During training period participate and provide required work and evidence to support compliance at intervals defined in the CURE project
