They have an exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Team Leader to lead the FLEX curriculum team at the North Notts Campus. This is a real opportunity as a passionate and innovative teacher and industry-skilled specialist to make a real difference to young people and adults who have SEND; Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.
The role of a Curriculum Team Leader is to lead on the delivery of a range of programmes equipping their students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspiring students with SEND to achieve their potential.
In this curriculum area they deliver to a wide variety of students who have SEND. In this role you will be responsible for delivering and leading on various study programmes to students with SEND; often from pre-entry to Level 1. This could include Employability and Personal Development qualifications, Independent Living qualifications, Supported Internships, English and Maths as well as offering and delivering bespoke programmes to meet the individual needs of students.
Working with a supportive team including leadership from Curriculum Managers and the Director of Campus, as well as working alongside other Curriculum team leaders and lecturers. This established team of education professionals deliver an engaging and personalised project-based curriculum, leading the future students onto further education opportunities into their chosen vocational pathway, preparing them for adulthood, independent living, and ultimately into employment.
As a Curriculum Team Leader, you will coordinate and lead a group of programmes and will deliver teaching each year, completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this, and setting SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential. You will also supervise staff within your area to meet high expectations and college KPI s., Your line manager will be the Curriculum Manager, and you will regularly report on your objectives to update them on a range of KPI s including (but not limited to) student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, progress, attendance and punctuality.
You will provide day to day leadership, guidance and support to Lecturers in your team through informal methods and regular team meetings. You will also liaise with all staff that teach on your programme(s), monitoring performance indicators. This will also mean working collaboratively with other FLEX colleagues across the Group at Rotherham Campus and Dearne Valley Campus.

Have relevant knowledge, skills and experience of working with, and supporting students with SEND, as well as experience delivering, assessing and verifying a variety of pre-entry to Level 1 study programmes. You should have experience of co-ordination and managing a range of courses and be able to give the students an enriching an fulfilling experience from day one.
You will have a teaching qualification and level 2 literacy and numeracy/equivalent as well as a relevant professional/vocational qualification in SEND. You will be required to have experience of leading and motivating a team of staff, as well as being able to inform the curriculum offer for students with SEND; tailored to meet the needs of individuals with Education Health and Care plans, and those without.
You must have recent experience of leading or working as part of team within an education establishment, with evidence of delivering strong outcomes and high-quality teaching and learning, plus working with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be able to lead your team successfully, working collaboratively with colleagues in this area and across other subjects. You will have good contacts with industry professionals as appropriate, and work with them effectively to shape their future curriculum as well as providing excellent opportunities for students with SEND to enable them to fulfil their potential and progress into adulthood.
