Full Job Description

Are you looking for a role supporting students and staff to realise their creative technical aspirations? We are moving to a purpose-built building to support our Film, Media, VFX, Animation, Games and Computing students. As part of this move, we are looking for someone with strong technical skills across these disciplines to ensure we maximise student potential.

As part of the Digital and Media team you will be expected to provide a proactive service to all staff and students. We have an amazing array of technology at our disposal, and you will be critical to ensuring students and staff are able to effectively use these facilities.

Our Green screen and Virtual Production Stage will use RED Komodo camera systems and additionally a Vicon Motion Capture Camera System. The TV Studio will be fully functional and driven by a broadcast Panasonic camera chain and Kairos Vision Mixing system. Edit/Grade/Dub and Voice Over will feature an Avid S4 Console, Blackmagic control surface and Neumann U87 Mics. In our Animation and Photo capture play space we will have a Dragonframe setup with lighting control and ProFoto strobes.

In the classroom, we deliver Unreal Engine, Adobe Substance, Autodesk Maya, Blender, Zbrush, Adobe CC, Apple Logic Pro X, Visual Studio, VS Code, Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, TheFoundry Nuke, Side FX Houdini and 3DEqualizer. We are well stocked with high end Workstations for intensive 3D and real time application alongside a fleet of iMacs to serve our Film & VFX courses.

You will provide in class first line support and escalate where appropriate as well as handle equipment loans and setups for various activities and events.

  • Possess a Media or Computing qualification.

  • Proven experience as a Media and Computing Technician.

  • Experience and knowledge in Apple MacOS and Microsoft Windows Systems

  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Knowledge of lighting and sound techniques and materials.
