Full Job Description

Fixed-term contract for external applicants and/or secondment opportunity for LBE employees until 18 months.

We are looking for several individuals who are able to work within the Local Taxation Team in the collection of Council Tax and Business Rates.

Ealing bills and recovers Local Taxation from domestic and commercial properties and this important role supports the income collection for the council.

This role requires active contact with Council Tax and Business Rates payers, especially those who are in arrears. This contact will be through email, telephone, letter and at court.

What are we looking for?

Individuals who can recover outstanding balances and negotiate payment arrangements.

Individuals who are able to demonstrate they can use databases and software in the collection of Council Tax and Business Rates balances. (Experience of using NEC/Northgate software is advantageous).

Individuals who are able to work within a busy team and follow instruction towards meeting our goals.

Individuals who are able to work towards our collection targets.

Individuals who are able to communicate online, by letter and in-person at court., Ealing council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. This role is subject to Ealing Council's enhanced vetting process.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
