Full Job Description
As a Customer Inspector, you will be responsible for reacting to incidents raised by our customer services unit, the wholesale service desk, retailers and our billing department. Your day will be scheduled via an electronic diary based on an emergency, target date and appointment basis to meet both business and customer expectations. This will involve working closely with the Schedulers to manage your workload efficiently and effectively. Day to day, you will follow this schedule, which will see you attending customer homes to carry out the initial customer inspector survey which may include meter installations, customers experiencing issues with their private supply pipe and job requests for the assets on our network. You will raise additional follow-up works as required. The role will see you interacting daily with customers, including non-household suppliers, therefore you must ensure the highest standard of customer service is delivered at all times. You will also ensure all work is carried out in line with policy, procedure and best practice to maintain the safety of yourself and our customers. Should customers have an issue with their water supply or a leak, you will see to that customer to ensure the issue is resolved as promptly as possible. What you'll need To be successful you will have a 'can do' attitude, while also being confident, assertive and self-motivated in dealing with all types of queries in a calm, timely and efficient manner. Due to the nature of this role, you will find yourself working alone for a large portion of your day, therefore it is essential that you follow lone worker processes to ensure safe working at all times. You will also possess excellent housekeeping skills, including keeping your vehicle and uniform clean at all times. You will be comfortable liaising with other departments, managers and external parties to gather and resolve customer issues. With relevant experience in water industry activities, together with NRSWA street works certification, you will have a sound understanding of our new connections process, water regulations, the customer leak policy, non-household processes and the wastewater notice process. This role will require you to be part of a 24/7 standby rota for attending customer emergencies.

This role will see you travelling around Wiltshire, including but not limited to Bath, Trowbridge and Chippenham. Therefore, you will need to hold a valid driving licence - a vehicle will be provided for your travel.
