Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Team Leader to support the management of our frontline services, including our busy council office, contact centres, and outreach drop-in sessions.What will you be doing? In this role, you will be required to manage and support a team of customer information officers with a variety of enquiries face to face and over the telephone, manage our front-line service across our busy council officers, outreach settings and contact centres. You will work closely with our housing team to ensure our customers receive a seamless experience. You will also lead, manage, motivate, coach and develop a team of Customer Service Advisers by:

  • Empowering team members with skills to improve their confidence, knowledge, and communication skills.
  • Creating a pleasant working environment that inspires the team.
  • Managing performance and attendance in line with the council's policies
  • Be confident in dealing with escalations/complex enquires in order to provide a resolution for the customer.
  • Managing change effectively.
  • To identify and maximise the use of first point resolution.

    Previous customer service experience is essential, along with good communication skills, natural empathy, and a good sense of humour.
  • To succeed in this challenging role, you must be flexible and able to demonstrate the skills necessary to work under pressure within a team environment:

  • This role will be based in Northampton, with a requirement to work across our other offices and outreach setting within West Northamptonshire.
