Full Job Description

To further develop the Customs brokerage product in the marketplace through focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture in adherence to the company's policy and procedures. Tasks and Duties

  • Ensure all classification instructions for all shipments for all customers.
  • Monitor duty deferment usage and levels.
  • Monitor license/visa applications.
  • Ensure all new business is transitioned correctly.
  • Make 2 F2F calls per week - Retention/Sales
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.
  • Promote productivity tools (e.g., using edoc, process management, customsware usage/Expo customs.
  • Audit of files in accordance to AEO
  • Follow up refunds with customs authorities.
  • Management of customs system
  • Send client report requests through the available database (expo request, expo reporting)
  • Provide content for customer reviews - duty/vat,
  • Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department.
  • Review and conduct staff appraisals and one to one meeting timely in line with the 3+1 Initiative
  • Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and monitoring development., Exceeds customer expectations by anticipating, understanding and meeting needs. Is proactive and when issues arise, is timely and resolute in solving problems, including escalating to management when necessary. Builds rapport and exhibits empathy during interactions, and consistently strives to improve customer satisfaction with customers. (This skill expectation applies both externally (customers, service providers) and internally (other Expeditors offices/employees).

  • Timely and Accurate Shipment Processing
  • Ensures smooth and timely freight process flow according to Expeditors' operational procedures. Follows customer's standard operating procedures and proactively notifies customers of any issues. Consistently meets KPI standards, as per company's procedures.
  • Timely and Accurate Data Entry
  • Ensures accurate and timely data entry into our operational systems according to Expeditors' operational procedures and customer requirements. Monitors exception reports for quick data integrity resolution.
  • Timely and Accurate Billing and Accounting
  • Invoices customers the expected charges timely and accurately and according to Expeditors and customer requirements. Properly provisions service provider charges to avoid reserves. Follows proper credit approval processes in order to minimize risk and protect the company.

  • Global logistics industry knowledge
  • Good computer skills (e.g., MS Excel, MS Word) Fluent in English
  • Proven problem solving, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • 3-5 years of Customs Broker's specific knowledge
