Full Job Description

The Child Weight Management Nutritionist is responsible for contributing to the delivery of Haringey GP Federations Child Weight Management Service, under the supervision of the Clinical Lead. The role will include liaising with school nurses in the borough, supporting social prescribers, and helping to oversee the events and interventions on offer to children and their families. The role is paramount in ensuring the service is appropriate in meeting the needs of children, families and the wider community.

The aim of this post is to identify and offer interventions to children who are overweight, with a view to improving their lifestyle and overall health for both the short and longer-term. The team will work with local statutory, private and voluntary sector providers, and users to develop and promote practice that is accessible and responsive to all sections of the local community, ensuring that services are targeted to the most vulnerable groups and individuals to support social inclusion. The service will be heavily focussed on the East end of Haringey where deprivation is greatest.
