Full Job Description

The individual will be required to assist colleagues in the management, or avoidance, of technical risks that could introduce vulnerabilities into the environment, contributing to discussions on the most appropriate course of action to avoid these. There may be a need to contribute to incident management activity related to the role relating to these potential or actual risks. This role will involve collaborative working with colleagues to assist them in ensuring that system integration and consistent approaches are maintained. The team is focused on enabling a secure and safe environment within which the Bank and its staff can operate. The role involves interaction with both technical and non-technical colleagues across the Bank so a clear and appropriate communication style is important to ensure customer satisfaction for the services delivered. The jobholder will also maintain, develop and improve the tools, processes and procedures for which they are responsible, to meet changing business and team requirements. They must adhere to the organisation's policies, standards and guidelines when undertaking their work, planning, managing, and prioritising their workload as required. They will contribute to the wider function and Bank goals, targets and objectives, ensuring that IT security activities comply with the Bank's risk appetite and risk management framework.

This role requires hands on experience in operational security activities, as well as good interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to produce clear documentation and concise reporting. Experience in engaging with internal partners will be vital, taking a service orientated and customer focused approach. The ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences, talk through technical details to non-technical people and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. The role will require sound knowledge and experience of Cyber Security, technical infrastructure, security tools and security management as well as practical operational skills. The individual will need to be a team player with the ability to manage workloads and prioritise.,

  • Experience of working in a Cyber Security engineering role over a reasonable period of time, preferably gained in an operational environment.
  • A strong interest in Cyber Security, with the holding of relevant qualifications being a distinct advantage (e.g. CISSP, CCNA, CCNA Security, Security+, CCNP Security, CCSA, Windows Certifications or ITIL v3)
  • Experience or knowledge of network structures, their management & implementation.
  • Understanding of network protocols, web application security as well as security toolsets and their integration.
  • Experience in a number of the following technologies:
  • + Microsoft M365 and Azure AD. + Web Proxy technologies (Cloud & on prem). + Browser isolation and document transformation technologies. + CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker) technologies. + Vulnerability management tools. Desirable Criteria
  • Linux/Windows operating systems (workstation and server)
  • Device virtualisation technologies
  • Management of cloud resources
  • Experience of working with SIEM technologies
  • Experience working in the financial services industry

This role offers a salary of Leeds ranging from £40,320 to £45,360 and London from £44,800 to £50,400. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:

There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
