Full Job Description

Main Daily Duties

  • Mop floors surrounding shower and adjacent hallway ensuring the floors are left dry to avoid the risk of slips and falls.
  • Prepare a light meal for lunch.
  • Preparation of a main meal for reheating later in the day.
  • Washing up, tidying and clearing away in the kitchen afterwards as necessary.
  • Preparation of snacks and drinks during working hours as requested.
  • General housekeeping duties including sweeping floors, cleaning and tidying away.
  • Laundry; including ironing, putting away and changing the bed when requested.
  • Main Weekly Duties (or as required)
  • Support with local shopping and driving the employer to occasional outpatient appointments. A car owner/driver with relevant business insurance is essential for this.
  • Mileage expenses will be paid (excluding commute).
  • Any other reasonable task that the employer requests.
  • The employer has a small dog, therefore applicants should be dog-friendly.
  • Occasionally a a small amount of personal care is needed., Please note you will be directly employed by the person (or their representative) that you will be assisting. The Council is not the employer.

    The successful applicant will be friendly, able to give empathetic support, while respecting the employer's independence but also able to take instruction.
  • Previous experience as a Personal Assistant is desirable. Must be flexible, trustworthy and have a good sense of humour.

    The Employer is an independent, disabled gentleman living in his own home seeking support with his daily living tasks.
