DANCOP Area Officer

DANCOP is seeking an Area Officer to join our team. This is a diverse and rewarding role as part of the delivery team for South Derby. The role of the Officer is to ensure the effective development and delivery of projects and activities in their designated area, ensuring DANCOP has maximum reach and impact, and that provision is relevant and successfully delivered, monitored, and evaluated.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in widening participation and build project and relationship management skills. You would be joining a supportive team of practitioners who are dedicated to providing excellent outreach support., This role is ideal for an enterprising individual with a strong educational background and an excitement for engaging young people. You will hold an undergraduate degree and possess the confidence and communication skills necessary to present effectively to students aged 11 to 19. As a student-facing role, the ability to capture and maintain the interest of diverse audiences is essential.

The position offers a varied workload, and will include occasional evenings and weekends. Key to this role is experience in education and a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver activities and resources that help young people progress into Higher Education.

You will also have a deep understanding of equality and diversity, working inclusively and encouraging a supportive environment for all. Interpersonal and communication skills are vital, as the role requires the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and individuals across all levels of an organisation.

A collaborative team player, you must also be capable of working independently when needed, demonstrating flexibility and initiative to succeed in this role.

About the College/Department

The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Collaborative Outreach Partnership (DANCOP) is a Uni Connect partnership led by the University of Derby, including the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University, Chesterfield College, Nottingham College, Derby College Group, Vision West Nottinghamshire College, and Buxton & Leek College. We provide outreach delivery to schools and colleges across the region.

This post is a full-time fixed term post until 31st July 2025. We do welcome applications from candidates who are interested in this as a part-time role (minimum of 30 hours a week)., Generous annual leave entitlement of 38 days inclusive of bank holidays and concessionary days (pro rata)
