Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable, efficient and extremely organised person with scientific or health related experience, who can demonstrate good interpersonal skills. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of data systems for respiratory viruses, for contributing to further development of systems within the department. The post will carry out scientific analysis, interpretations of the data held by the department., This post will provide scientific support to the Virus Reference Department (VRD), Colindale.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of enhanced surveillance systems for respiratory viruses, for contributing to further development of systems as well as participating in research activities within the section and the department.

The post will provide key input into the project organisation, management, analysis and publications.

The post will carry out scientific analysis, interpretations of the data held by the section, and contribute to development of other new projects for dissemination, presentation and publication in peer-reviewed journals.

The post involves regular liaison with clinical microbiologists and physicians working in the field of respiratory viruses surveillance and research and with other health care professionals at the local and national level.
