Data Analyst - Industry Operations

At the core of our customer experience is our industry interactions and processes, and we're on the hunt for a Data Analyst to join our Industry Ops Data Team to help develop data-driven solutions in this area.
The Industry Ops Data Team supports the data needs for three broad business areas; Industry Processes, Metering, and Billing. You'll work with diverse datasets, ranging from consumption data to marketing and operations data to build data apps, dashboards, and perform analysis that drives key business insights.
As a team, we utilise a modern Cloud based data platform, including technologies like AWS, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, Jupyter and more. You will work across our tech stack to serve hundreds of data users across the Operations Team. You will have a direct impact on our growing customer base in the UK... (of just over 7 million!!)
The ideal person will be passionate about leveraging data to provide insights and improve efficiency across various teams. You'll need to be great at listening, understanding challenges and formulating pragmatic solutions. At Octopus, teams are given freedom with how they run, and you will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of projects, making key decisions along the way.,

• Work on developing or maintaining the existing data pipelines to improve usability and insight to end users


• Build data applications and dashboards to help the industry teams support our customers, improve our business operations and surface data for audits and regulatory reporting


• Work closely with a broad range of teams in Operations to scope projects and understand their data needs


• Work on strategic projects end to end
  
  We're looking for a generalist with an interest in technology and problem-solving; someone curious and self driven, who when faced with a new problem is capable of seeking out an answer


• Highly data literate and numerate - can make sense of lots of data and shape it into a coherent story


• Experience with some (not all) of the technologies below:


• SQL


• Wrangling data outside a spreadsheet environment


• Building reports and dashboards


• Scripting language (e.g. Python)


• Experience working in dbt


• Working collaboratively on codebases using git
