Full Job Description

The Data Architect is required to take the outputs from the Business Analysts and Enterprise Architects and produce data schemas and system integration data needs. The PPP Data Architect defines the data technical solution for the management, storage, access, navigation, movement, and transformation of data and information. Responsibilities

  • Using information from the Enterprise Architect, the Data Architect choses specifies or recommends DBMS and ETL tools and technologies for structured and unstructured content.
  • Creates and maintains the Metadata Repository.
  • Compiles and maintains the Enterprise Schema across all applications.
  • Examines and enforces opportunities to provide data reuse, balancing the issues of centralisation and replication.
  • Ensures the preservation of strategic data assets as applications and technologies change.
  • Develop and maintain guidelines, template and reference materials (including physical, logical and conceptual designs) to accelerate the creation of new architectures
  • Develop and maintain building blocks from known architectural artifacts to create a repository of reuseable components to accelerate architectural implementation
  • Research new or modified products and technologies to determine performance and interoperability within the proposed architectural roadmap
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned according to business requirements.
  • Travel as required.
  • III Accountabilities To the Line Manager for:
  • Produce clearly documented architectural artefacts.
  • Lead, plan, and coordinate their activities.

    Degree level qualification ideally in an IT/IM discipline, Experience of designing data schemas and system integration data needs based on information provided by Business Analysts and vendors
  • Experience of Enterprise Integration Bus technology or Integration as a Platform such as Boomi, or Mulesoft
  • Experience of Extract, Transform and Load techniques and the use of middle ware, webservices and adapters
  • Help maintain the integrity and security of the company database
  • Applying technical information technology and information assurance controls to business information models
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and technical ICT documents into architectural diagrams and documents.
  • Ability to work with Business Analysts and Subject Mater Experts to develop a solution with minimal inputs
  • Desirable:
  • Experience of construction and major infrastructure delivery
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable presenting to Enterprise Architecture and Governance Boards
