Data Architecture Associate Manager

Due to the nature of the client engagements, every employee needs to be able to achieve Security Clearance. This means that you need to have the right to take up employment within the UK, do not have or require any visa to work, and have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years without any gap(s) totalling more than 6 months.

You should be able to easily commute to our London office. For some roles/projects, travel to the clients offices will be required and the frequency is often determined by the client.

Team

We are constructing the top data engineering practice in the UK, and our team build bespoke, mission critical data solutions for the UK Government as well as bluechip corporate clients across the EU.

We are looking for the top expert data engineers in the country, and aim to be the best data engineers in the world.,

• Low level design, implementation and testing of large-scale data processing systems using distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink or Apache Spark


• Architect cloud-based solutions capable of handling petabytes of data


• Lead the automation of CI/CD pipelines for data engineering tasks


• Helping to size and scope projects, and contributing to estimating the required resources and timelines for completion


• Guide engineering teams through the development process, ensuring the highest quality and performance standards


• Collaborate closely with Data Design Architects to ensure alignment with broader data strategy and governance


• Performance management of up to 15 data engineers/scientists.


• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers


• Provide thought leadership through public speaking and online communications


• Supporting sales, bids, and presales activities


• Excellent consultancy skills, and stakeholder management experience
  
  The Data Solutions Architect specialises in lower level design and implementing large-scale data processing solutions using distributed computing frameworks, AWS native components, and AWS cloud platforms. You should be comfortable designing and constructing bespoke solutions and components from scratch to solve the hardest problems.


You will be adept in Java, Scala, and big data technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Flink or Apache Spark, and bring a deep understanding of engineering best practices.

This role involves longer term multi-sprint planning, , project estimating, understanding complex data engineering tasks for multi-member teams, leading the construction of robust, scalable data pipelines, and focusing on high-quality, production-grade code that runs lights out in production.

In this role you are the bridge between designs and specifications and hands-on coding, capable of accurately estimating and delivering data projects that handle petabytes of information - and guiding the organisation through a complex process of reviewing the requirements, and shaping the programmes to deliver in mission critical environments.
