Full Job Description

Data Center Operations Team manages the planning, hardware installation and configuration, optimization, operations, and ongoing maintenance of the computer/data center. Oversees systems performance, the monitoring of equipment and the management of vendor relationships. Responsible for capacity planning and continual assessments for process improvement to ensure that processes are well-documented, sustainable, and scalable. Monitors ongoing practices to ensure consistency with policies, compliance regulations and control requirements. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Roles can have an internal or external client focus. May involve company-hosted, Web-enabled solutions or may include project-based jobs in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. What you get to do in this role:

  • As a Data Center Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for global infrastructure design, standards, operations and architecture.
  • Use your experience in data center operations to implement, communicate, execute, and assist with procedures including day to day operations, asset management, deployments and hardware break- fix.
  • Take part in documentation and maintain a catalog of standards and best practices for data center operations.
  • Function as the primary point of contact and be accountable for all vendors who operate inside of our data centers.

    2 year's experience in data center operations, with year-on-year responsibility growth and a passion for progression.
  • Perform hardware break-fix tasks within production environments.
  • General understanding of data center facilities and infrastructure, including power, structured cabling, rack placement and security compliance.
  • Experience of deploying pre-integrated racks, servers and network appliances including, installation, patching, cable management and asset labelling.
  • Process oriented and experienced in process development
  • Good to have:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to multi-task several issues.
  • The flexibility to travel domestically and internationally from time to time.
  • General documentation skills with particular emphasis on technical processes, standards and knowledge sharing.
  • General understanding of networking/server architecture and hardware.
  • Experience with vendor management in a data center environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in ITIL process methodologies would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently in a variety of situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer focus, problem solving abilities, positive mindset.
  • Although data center experience is key, the successful candidate will be self-motivated and positive with a passion for developing new skills.
