This is a position with grade 12 This position reports to Sales Manager - ELDS Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and drive the local Electrification Distribution Solutions strategy for the UK Datacentre market segment with maintain responsibility for the overall segment sales budget, plus improve our market penetration to realize growth aspirations. You will also showcase your expertise by developing the sales channels and accounts reach to achieve the sales targets, through high performance. Each day, you will plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for OEM's, Panel Builders, Consultants, End Users and EPC's within the Datacentre market segment of the Medium Voltage Product and Solution portfolio to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. The work model for the role is: Homebased within the London area with travel expected to ABB offices and customer sites. This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions business in the UK. Main stakeholders are Key Customers, Sales Manager ELDS, Marketing and Sales Director ELDS, EMEA Data Centre Team, Product Market Managers, Tendering team, Factory Representatives, Operational Execution Teams and other Sales and Account Management Interfaces. Main responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and evaluating new opportunities with existing and potential customers, determining plans for implementation, and allocating required resources. Developing high-level engagement with data centre customer accounts to foster lasting relationships and drive business growth. Leading full sales and tendering processes for product and solution enquiries, ensuring smooth and effective communication. Streamlining coordination across the sales team and other divisions, ensuring every opportunity is capitalized on for successful outcomes.
  • Qualifications for the role
  • 5+ years of sales/technical experience in Medium and Low Voltage products and systems.
  • Sales and high level customer engagement experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Datacentre market
  • Sound knowledge of IEC61850 Protocols, SCADA, Product Portfolio and the Digital market
  • A HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Current Driving licenses valid in United Kingdom.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiating skills, a customer-focused mindset and a professional, "can-do" attitude.
  • Proven business development, account management and cross-selling experience.
  • A clear grasp of contract negotiations, risk management, and commercial and legal terms.
  • Strong switchgear experience, enabling you to drive innovation in the medium voltage space is a plus.
