Full Job Description

  • Perform media management activities within the UK Data Centre environment, adhering to all relevant Citi policies.

  • Responsible for the secure storage of all media/hard disk drives.


  • Maintain a full inventory of media/hard disk drives via the online Vertices database.

  • Perform regular reconciliations of physical media/hard disk drives.

  • Perform secure destruction of media/hard disk drives as per Global policy.

  • Manage the secure transfer of media between CITI locations.

  • Ensure all tape mount requests are performed within agreed timeframes.

  • Complete regular Risk & Control checks to ensure management oversight of key risks.

  • Maintain Records Management inventory.

  • Monitor ticket queues for Data Centre access & ETM transfer requests.

  • Track media related incident/problem tickets to a satisfactory conclusion (online tools used for incident/problem management: ResolveIT and ServiceNow).

  • Raise/approve ServiceNow CHG requests.

  • Provide audit deliverables upon request (both internal and external).

  • Collect and process hard disk drives from failed/decommissioned servers.

  • Utilize approved erasure software to wipe hard disk drives.

  • Review and suggest solutions for problems or gaps in procedures and documentation for EMEA Media Management team.

    Must demonstrate a pro-active approach to the role, and be able to work independently, but also collaborate with other team members where required.

  • Ensure work is done correctly and that there is an audit trail for all tasks undertaken.

  • Suggesting solutions to potential problems and acting to minimize the impact they may have on the project or unit.
