Full Job Description

  • Sky Data Regulatory support the delivery of data to the business to ensure that Sky is compliant with regulations covering telecommunications, the provision of financial services, data governance and government investigations. This is done through the modelling of complex data to gain an overall insight into the customers journey across all of their product holdings.

  • The regulatory team also provides data used to respond to information requests from Sky's regulatory bodies being Ofcom, ComReg (ROI) and The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) which give insight to the regulators on the industries performance as well as how Sky has performed against these regulations, helping them to make informed decisions on how to further improve.

  • Provide domain knowledge, strive for excellence, challenge assumptions, and bring solutions

  • Work well within a squad - understand and contribute to the agile delivery process and take ownership for your own software quality from concept to production

  • Deliver innovative technical solutions that will meet the business requirements of our stakeholders. This will entail analysing, developing, testing, and deploying the appropriate solution through the full development lifecycle

  • Produce deliverables that follow the development standards and principles, on time

  • Produce a detailed breakdown of Engineering tasks to Scrum Master

  • Adhere to the end-to-end change process and apply necessary rigour in a timely manner

  • Collaborate extensively within the Sky Data and provide technical & domain input

  • Assist with the mentoring of associate engineers and colleagues during the project lifecycle

    In depth understanding of large-scale data, such as data warehouses and their best practice and principles of managing them.

  • Comprehensive experience of working on cloud-based technologies, Google Cloud Platform being advantageous.

  • A working understanding of the current and future powers held by the regulating

  • Dedication to staying current on best practices and evolving the team's technical processes.

  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and has a proven ability to influence technical decisions in a fast-moving commercial environment.

  • Good coding skills in SQL and in programming language such as Python, Java, or Spark.

  • A passion for data quality and attention to detail, ensuring that the outputs we produce are robust and will stand up to regulatory scrutiny.

  • Expert knowledge of the full software development life cycle including CICD

  • Proficient in front end visualisation tools (Tableau, preferred), with strong skills in data storytelling.
