Data Engineer

We're looking to recruit an experienced Data Engineer to join our newly formed Data Engineering team. Working closely together, you'll help set and deliver the future direction of the company's strategy and approach to managing, storing and using data. While collaborating closely with our wider Technology and business teams; all to ensure the successful achievement of our company goals and to provide a seamless technology service. Day to day in your role, you'll lead on creating and delivering a range of insightful initiatives to support the transformation, processing and visibility of our company data. All working to improve the quality and usability of data.   We'd love to hear from you if you're a natural communicator who enjoys working with others. Crucially you'll have a genuine passion for data; keeping up-to-date with best practice, along with emerging trends and possible threats. You'll therefore be open to wider perspectives, new learnings and feedback from others in support of your continued professional development. And you'll be:
• skilled in developing and supporting a data driven culture, influencing change and gaining buy-in to cultural and technical principles
• a highly creative problem-solver able to consider people, company, system and data protection implications, with the ability to successfully resolve complex issues
• experienced at setting up and using big data storage including data warehouse, data lake or data lake house. And in integrating tooling into pipelines and ensure the use of automation wherever possible
• able to build and demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of real-time data streaming, batch data processing and data transformation processes
Ideally, you'll be familiar with tools like Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Purview, and Databricks; and also have experience in creating data infrastructure utilising Infrastructure as Code tooling; skills in analysing data using tools like Apache Spark or SQL pools and the ability to create reporting dashboards through tools including PowerBI.
