Full Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Data Engineer on a Permanent basis to join the team. This position will be based at one of the Nordex head offices in Limerick, Ireland or Manchester, UK.,

  • Designing, developing and deploying digital solutions ensuring the software development life cycle in an agile setup.
  • Working on a leading-edge platform based on cloud technology.
  • Analysing and decomposing business requirements into technical functionalities.
  • Producing clean and efficient code based on business requirements and specifications.
  • Creating Notebooks, pipelines and workflows in SCALA or Python to ingest, process and serve data in our platform.
  • Creating technical documentation.
  • Acting as technical lead for junior and external developers.
  • Be a part of the continuous improvement of Nordex' development processes by participating in retrospectives and proposing optimizations.

    The successful candidate will have proven experience in a Solutions Developer, Software Engineer or similar positions with a successful track record of working in complex project environments.
  • You will hold a degree or other equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or another related discipline. You will also have experience or certification in Databricks, SQL data warehousing and Azure Data lakes. Other requirements for this role include:
  • Profound knowledge of scripting languages which include R and/or Python
  • Experience in data analytics platforms
  • Profound knowledge of Scala, T-SQL. Knowledge of JAVA, PowerShell scripting, RESTful APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience in agile development and its related tools e.g. Azure DevOps, CICD processes.
  • Fluent English skills (German or Spanish skills are a plus)
  • There is a requirement to travel to other sites with the UK, Ireland and European region on an occasional basis.
