Slalom is seeking a Data Governance and Privacy Consultant to join our Data & Technology Team. We believe in a world where every piece of data is trusted, valued, and never abused. As Data Governance & Privacy professionals we support and advise clients to balance flexible use, effective management and a pragmatic approach to handling data to support insight and innovation.

  • You are an advocate for governance as an enabler and make the connection between the technical requirements and the business outcomes


  • You and what you bring:
  • Regulatory Compliance Expertise: Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations such as The Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR etc., and the ability to interpret and apply them to various business contexts.

  • Risk Assessment and Management: Proficiency in conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats to data security and privacy, as well as developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

  • Data Governance Frameworks: Proficiency in designing and implementing data governance frameworks to establish policies, procedures, standards, and controls for effective data management, including data quality, retention, and access control.

  • Consulting and Communication Skills: Strong consulting skills to assess client needs, communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner, and provide actionable recommendations for enhancing data privacy and security posture. This includes the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different levels of the organisation.


  • Nice to have:
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with information security technologies and tools, such as encryption, access management systems, data loss prevention (DLP), and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.

  • Hands-on experience with Master Data Management and Data Cataloguing tools and approaches

  • Data Strategy: Experience in creating data strategies to optimise organisational data usage and drive informed decision-making and business outcomes.
