Full Job Description

The Data Integration and Reporting Analyst will support the ZSL 200 plan by ensuring high-quality data integration and reporting across the organisation. The role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of data, enabling informed decision-making that drives our conservation efforts. The analyst will collaborate with multiple business units, including HR, marketing, and operations, to deliver tailored data solutions that align with ZSL's strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities:
Data warehouse development:

- Design and develop data warehouse schema and OLAP cubes to extend organisational reporting capabilities.
- Implement testing regime to ensure data consistency, accuracy and efficient to use.
- Have curiosity to stay informed about emerging technologies and provide recommendations to improve existing processes.

Data Integration:

- Seamlessly integrate data from various sources into the data warehouse.
- Utilize ETL tools, scripting languages (SQL, Python), and APIs for data integration.
- Data cleaning and preparation

Data Quality Assurance:

- Implement and manage processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- SaveUse SQL Server, SSIS, and other tools to monitor and resolve data quality issues.

Maintenance and Optimization:

- Maintain and optimize the data warehouse, including performance tuning and routine backups.
- Monitor and proactively improve existing data pipelines
- Implement best practices for database configuration and backup/recovery processes.

Documentation and Standards:

- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data warehouse processes.
- Standardize processes to ensure consistency and ease of onboarding for new team members.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

- Work with business units to understand data needs and provide tailored reporting solutions.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to meet organizational data requirements.

Report Development:

- Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI and other tools.
- Ensure reports are accurate, relevant, and support data-driven decision-making.

The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned from time to time that are in line with the level of the role.

Proven experience in data analysis and integration
- Schema Design (for OLAP and OLTP type systems)
- Experience in developing dataflows with ETL tools, particularly SSIS
- Experience in data quality management and assurance

Knowledge and skills

- Advanced MS SQL
- Knowledge of PowerBI data modelling
- Understand and be able to implement data quality assurance concepts
- Advanced data warehousing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team
- Information security concepts including GDPR and Data protection

This post is a blended role for office and home working; some travel to Zoo sites will be required.
- Ability to work occasional flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
