Full Job Description

The Data Manager at Langley School plays a key role in co-ordinating and administering the efficient running of the School's Management Information System (iSAMS) in order to support the Academic Teams. This includes:

\n

  • Maintenance of the School's Management Information System (iSAMS) for both the Senior and Prep School, including the annual rollover process for setting up the new school year. \n

  • Co-ordinate the integration and ongoing development of relevant data, processes and procedures into the School's existing information management infrastructure (These systems include; iSams and My School Portal. \n

  • Support the Academic teams by providing data and system configuration and required. \n

  • Provide Administrative Support for the Academic Leadership team. \n

  • Make recommendations to inform decision-making and improve student performance; specifically focusing on producing data, reports and analysis for attainment and progress, behaviour and attendance, self-evaluation and staff performance management and professional development. \n

  • In liaison with the Deputy Head (Academic), assist with critical updates of the academic timetables throughout the year.\n

  • \n
    + Where needed, make changes to the timetable within the Timetable software. \n
    \n \n
  • Create, manage and support the data input and record keeping of staff and student data through the provision of custom reports and fields in the MIS. \n

  • Manage teaching and timetabling information and migration of existing records to new year groups working with the Deputy Head (Academic). \n

  • Manage students' subject choices and distribution of block numbers, in consultation with the Deputy Head (Academic). \n

  • Manage the annual rollover process. \n

  • Set up the registration cycles at the beginning of each academic year. \n

  • Produce and maintain of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports for use from within iSAMS. \n

  • Build and report on school data using PowerBI, making use of data from multiple services. \n

  • Manage the production of statutory returns to Department of Education (DfE) and Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), as well as other bodies where required. \n

  • Data analysis and reporting to other departments. \n

  • Working with the Data Administrator, produce reports using assessment data to assist Leadership Teams and teaching staff to track student progress (input where necessary; organisation; reporting to interested parties; help ensure data entered on time and completed by teachers).\n

  • \n
    + Upload reports to Parent Portal. \n
    + Produce reports for the Academic team to facilitate a full analysis of the results of report grades and public examinations. \n
    + Ad hoc requests for data and/or analysis. \n

  • Working with the Exams team, manage the reporting, CEM data and associated responsibilities:\n

  • \n
    + Design and set up report cycle templates for data collection and analysis of data in addition to creating templates for each reporting session. \n
    + Set up complex formulae for analysing student performance and confidential staff curriculum targets. \n
    \n \n
  • Working with the Exams Team liaise with CEM for all school data requirements.\n

  • \n
    + Import CEM Centre data assessment scores. \n
    + Develop and maintain target data from GL Assessments, MidYIS, Alis and Yellis, including the appropriate use of regression data. \n
    + Submit returns to the CEM regarding entries, examination results and baseline testing. \n
    \n \n
  • Management of iSAMS, in conjunction with the Head of Digital Services.\n

  • \n
    + Ensure the integrity of the data stored within iSAMS. \n
    + Troubleshoot reported problems with the MIS and liaising with iSAMS as necessary. \n
    + Extend and/or supplement the use of iSAMS to serve the present and future needs of the School and assist with staff training. \n

  • Work closely with the Digital Services Team to ensure the smooth running of data systems. \n

  • Ensure cover is provided to the various areas within the Data and Admin teams, when staff are absent. \n

  • Liaise regularly with and the Head of Digital Services and the Academic Leadership team, as requested. \n

  • Liaise with the Digital Services Team regarding all technical aspects of the School's iSAMS e.g. implementation of new systems and/or modules, upgrades, maintaining users and accounts, troubleshooting issues. \n

    The position is for 52 weeks of the year, 37.5 hours per week (full-time). The School's core operating hours are 08:00 - 18:00, with the expectations for the Data Manager to work from 08:30 - 16:30 each day. The hours will need to be flexible to meet the demands of the School's day. Salary banding for this position is SS22 of Langley School Support Staff Pay Scale currently, £34,807.50.
