Full Job Description

This high-profile role sits within the Mortgages business and is a fantastic opportunity to join a data passionate, customer-obsessed and product driven team! The team supports the largest mortgage book in Europe, whilst creating excellent home buying and home ownership experiences for our customers. As a Mortgages Data Manager, you'll be responsible for influencing and driving data management activity across the business. Given the strategic importance of this area, you'll have exposure from very early on to senior Directors across the Group, supporting their data vision and goals through implementing a robust data management practice in Mortgages. This role reports into the Mortgages Senior Data Lead and has significant collaboration with the central Data Office and Chief Data and Analytics Office, aligning the execution of data management practices to wider Group strategic outcomes. What will I be doing?

  • Driving the embedding of data management into the Mortgages business to ensure we optimise data value and innovate safely
  • Go-to person for all matters relating to data management, feeding into the team's overall data strategy and ensuring that senior customers views align to broader Group data objectives
  • Ensure that colleagues in the division understand their responsibilities with respect to the Lloyds Banking Group Data Policy and support them with the actions they need to take
  • Work collaboratively with Technical Engineers, Product Owners and Solution Architects to understand data flows and manage the efficient and effective production of high-quality analysis based on this research
  • Champion for change, finding opportunities to enhance our existing data management capabilities or transform our current ways of working with data
  • Responsible for appropriate oversight to certify that data management activity is effective and ensure that data risk is minimised so that data value outcomes can be achieved
  • Responsibility for the assurance of high-quality data in the team, oversee maintenance of data quality dashboards and ensure that any data quality issues identified are recorded in a timely manner

  • Critical thinking and sophisticated problem solving: Demonstrate the ability to approach problems in a pragmatic way
  • Analytical approach: Strong analytical ability to plan, gather and review information from a range of sources to formulate clear and workable recommendations
  • It would be great if you also had:
  • Vast experience and knowledge across various data management fields and tools (particularly Collibra, Ataccama and metadata management)
  • A solid understanding of data risks, controls and the risk management framework.
  • Data Organisation awareness. Knowledge of technical, business and architecture data role types and responsibilities.
