Full Job Description

The Data Operations Analyst role is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter to make a meaningful impact within a growing team, with potential for future growth and development. You will be accountable for enforcing data governance practices ensuring data compliance, and collaborating with various business stakeholders to maintain data integrity. This role is pivotal in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our data operations, ensuring that our data products are reliable, compliant, and valuable to the business.,

  • Assist with incidents by identifying the root cause of data quality issues, driving issue resolution, and implementing technical and process improvements to prevent recurring issues and future failures.

  • Maintain regular communication with business, technology, and data teams to ensure alignment and collaboration

  • Assist with identifying, analyse and document the impact of changes proposed by projects or initiatives.

  • Collaborate with engineers and management to identify and implement process improvements, and supporting data governance strategies


  • Data Analysis & Insights:
  • Collaborate with broader business reporting teams to enhance data quality and uphold standards

  • Ensure information is vetted for accuracy before sharing any reports or communications with stakeholders.


  • Partner Management:
  • Maintain positive relationships with partners to ensure their support aligns seamlessly with data strategy and company objectives and requirements.

  • Collaborate with Supplier Management and Risk Management team to identify and prioritise potential data-related risks associated with vendors, and supporting strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.


  • Other Duties:
  • Effectively manage individual assignments and responsibilities, including setting milestones, managing tasks and actions, and coordinating the execution of plans within specified timelines and stakeholder quality expectations.

  • Ensure the Data backlog and Data Knowledge Hub are regularly updated to maintain departmental efficiency and operational continuity.

  • Assist in maintaining the integrity and performance of Data products, through regular product health checks.

  • Assist Data Enablement Consultant in ad hoc duties to facilitate departmental operations and initiatives.

  • Participating in requirements gathering meetings to ensure clear and comprehensive documentation.

  • Serve as the point of contact for colleagues seeking assistance with technical data enquiries.


  • What Team will I be a part?

    The Data Operations Analyst will report to the Data Enablement Consultant and operate as part of the wider Cyber Security and Data team within the Running Great Restaurant Technology team.

    + Change Management: Portfolio Management Office
    + Global: Colleagues in other McDonalds markets and those working in global and segment functions such as Enterprise Data Governance, Data Products, Back Office & Data Enablement, Reporting Hub, Data Platform & Architecture and GDW RunOps

  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in a data related field such as Data Governance, Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), Data Engineering, Data Operations and Data Product teams

  • A bachelor's degree in a data-related field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferable. However, equivalent certifications or relevant qualifications in Data & Information Technology will also be considered

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to work inpendently under pressure, prioritising tasks, and delivering data requests within agreed timelines

  • Strong technical acumen with a proficiency in relevant technologies and the ability to apply them to solve problems

  • Proficient in a variety of data technology and platforms such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Talend (ETL), Data Movement, Data Warehousing, Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), and Data Governance and Quality tools

  • Experience writing and implementing business requirements, process maps, user stories

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues to non-technical colleagues

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with an ability to produce reports, documentation, and communicate with audiences at all levels
