As a Data Product Owner / Lead at Royal Mail Group you will play a pivotal role in executing our business and technology transformation, with a strong emphasis on delivering value, driving efficiency, and fostering innovation. You will be the driving force behind the strategy, roadmap, and execution of our data products.   • Develop and articulate a clear and compelling vision, manage roadmap for our data products, aligned with overall business objectives focussing on value delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with business owners, product/project teams and other stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs, gather requirements, and ensure alignment on product priorities.
  • Focusing on migration and reducing legacy assets, you will develop and execute roadmaps to eliminate technical debt and modernise our data infrastructure using data products for improved efficiency, data management and utilisation
  • Create, prioritise, and maintain the product backlog using enterprise tools, ensuring it reflects the most valuable features and functionalities for our users. Document and analyse user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the strategic direction and planned evolution of the data products.
  • Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives) to ensure effective product development
  • Contribute to the go-to-market strategy and support the commercialisation of data products, including pricing, packaging, and launch activities. Track and analyse KPIs to measure product success, change portfolio and identify areas for improvement

    A strong understanding of business needs and the ability to translate this into data product requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud (or relevant cloud platforms) services relevant to data management, processing, and analytics (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage etc)
  • Experience with data governance and data quality management
  • Experience using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms for managing product backlogs and sprints. Experience in setting up product development pipelines would be beneficial.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, data pipelines, and data visualization tools with a strong acumen for designing solutions and problem solving.
  • Understanding of data product commercialisation strategies (internal and external), including pricing models and go-to-market approaches.
  • Experience working and in Agile and Scrum environments.
  • Confident written, presentation and verbal communication skills with experience effectively communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
