As part of our tight-knit, supportive Data Protection Team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and promoting our global data privacy culture. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how Ocado handles personal data across the business and work closely with a range of stakeholders, including our community of Data Privacy Champions. You'll have the chance to lead and own the end-to-end management of business processes involving personal data. By working side-by-side with key stakeholders, you'll help steer the business on best practices and regulations for Data Privacy, ensuring we stay ahead in a fast-evolving field. Accountabilities Support the business by conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to ensure projects and processes involving personal data meet compliance standards. You'll play a key role in influencing business decisions, advising on the best legal frameworks, and improving data privacy practices across the organization.

  • Writing guidance, communications, and policy documents.
  • Ensuring the company data privacy policies, standards and guidelines are operating effectively and are kept up to date.
  • Investigating personal data breaches, collaborating with the Data Privacy Champions to identify risks and advise on mitigating actions, ensuring they are implemented.
  • Immediately escalate personal data breaches to DPO that present a high risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects.
  • Supporting investigations of any complaints from a Data Protection Supervisory Authority.
  • Working with the Data Privacy Champions across the global business to ensure Ocado maintains processing inventories and a record / register of processing activities.
  • Identifying potential issues and risks with respect to the processing of personal data both within and across business functions.
  • Clearly communicating areas of concern to Data Privacy Champions, Process Owner and DPO escalating on issues log / Risk Register.
  • Support in the prioritisation of any issues, risks or other actions identified.
  • Providing advice to the Individual Rights Team responsible for managing requests for data subjects.

    Experience of process analysis and process documentation in a programme or project environment.
  • A good understanding of information technologies and data security.
  • Experience of using OneTrust.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and best practice.
  • Ability to work with a range of business stakeholders to understand and articulate their activities in line with defined standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of EU and UK Data Protection Legislation.
  • Experience of investigating data breaches and advising the business in relation to data protection requirements.
  • A professional qualification in data protection would be desirable.
