Full Job Description

Reporting to the Data Protection Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting the Data Protection Team by managing and responding to Data Subject Access Requests (\"DSARs\") and queries in accordance with data protection laws and regulations, including the GDPR. Your responsibilities will include handling administrative tasks related to DSARs, maintaining accurate records, and providing overall assistance with general data protection matters. Additionally, you'll ensure timely and effective communication with data subjects and internal stakeholders.

  • Support Data Protection Manager and Data Protection Advisor ("Data Protection Team"), covering legal and compliance matters relating to personal data

  • Collaborate with the Data Protection Team and the Compliance Team at Kingfisher, and other banners, to support implementation of initiatives to ensure the business are aligned with Kingfisher's data policies and processes

  • Assist colleagues with completion of breach reporting, record of processing activities and data protection impact assessments, via OneTrust

  • Review and support general issues and complaints in relation to data handling, escalating to the Data Protection Advisor if necessary

  • Monitor the Data Protection mailbox to ensure allocated matters are actioned, and escalated as appropriate, to the Data Protection Team

  • Working in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, you will collate, review, redact and process all colleague / former colleague DSARs, including liaising directly with other banners, third parties and the requestors

  • Collate weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting in relation to data protection matters

  • Operate and maintain a task management system to ensure legal deadlines are met

  • Escalate issues and identified risks with Data Protection Manager and Data Protection Advisor as appropriate

  • Maintain clear process maps to support the process and procedures of which you complete and manage


  • Good influencing skills, including the ability to resolve competing priorities and collaborate effectively to manage expectations with stakeholders within the business

  • First-class organisation skills to enable various tasks to be completed accurately, on time and to a high standard

  • Comfortable supporting team members to drive cross-functional collaboration and adoption of ideas

  • Flexibility and agility to adjust to new demands without dropping standards

  • Desire to drive both continuous improvement and step changes
