Job Summary
Crown Commercial Service has an exciting opportunity for a Data Quality & Lineage Lead to join the Data Insights and Delivery directorate (DID).
This role will provide a pivotal service in data governance by providing a clear and comprehensive view of data's journey throughout its lifecycle.
Driving quality improvement this role ensures that our data remains traceable and trustworthy, which is essential for making informed strategic decisions. It is the backbone that supports the integrity and reliability of data within CCS.
Directorate Overview
The DID team is central to making sure that decisions made within CCS are driven by data and insights. As a directorate, we provide reporting and insight support across all areas of CCS, including:
+ supplier research
+ framework analysis
+ internal performance reporting
We are continuing to enhance our performance analytics capabilities and are looking at ways we can gain a deeper understanding of how our users interact with CCS. We are also expanding our data science strengths and exploring new ways to apply emerging technologies, like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
We provide analytics across all of the customer and supplier markets where CCS operate, including survey and research support for our commercial and customer engagement colleagues. Our team uses visualisation tools, such as, Power BI to develop and distribute the insights that help CCS succeed.
Team Summary
The Data Engineering team in which this role sits is responsible for designing, building and managing the processes by which data comes into and flows through the organisation based on Cloud and API first principles through the use of the Microsoft Azure platform., + Ownership of the continuous improvement of data quality, ensuring data is joined-up, accurate, consistent, and managed well to meet the needs of the whole organisation. To develop an enterprise-class Data Dictionary and Catalogue
+ Remit to drive improvements in the coverage of verified, matched, and merged records, providing a trusted source of data for decision-making to drive insights and analytics and enable efficient business operations
+ Lead in the assessment of data using a range of tools/methods including data profiling, data quality business rules, root cause analysis and alignment to business outcomes, working collaboratively across business and Digital, Data, and Technology teams and across boundaries to find a solution to problems through preventative measures and remedial activity
+ Establishing a framework for the ongoing management and optimisation of data assets specifically regarding our Azure Data Warehouse and Data Lake(s), building on existing foundations to ensure data models are performant relative to query execution and report building
+ Representing the function at various cross-directorate forums to ensure that our principles are heard and adhered to regarding data-related best practices
+ Be a champion for data and data quality and help foster a proactive data culture at CCS; ensuring alignment with the enterprise architecture and product development plans, We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

+ Qualified data practitioner with demonstrable working experience in data quality management, master data management (MDM), or reference data management (RDM), in a business context with experience in using industry-standard tools (e.g. Informatica, Microsoft Purview)
+ Can effectively translate and communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders and facilitate discussions within a multidisciplinary team, with potentially difficult dynamics. You can advocate for the team externally and can manage differing perspectives
+ Experience in data profiling, practical assessment of data, and data quality reporting using various methods/tools coupled with understanding the needs/outcomes for users to tell stories and present clear insight about the data for continuous improvement, decision making and prioritisation
+ Excellent stakeholder management skills and proven experience in collaborating and engaging with business data owners/stakeholders to continually drive data quality improvements against business objectives and outcomes
+ Can lead work projects, and prioritise workload and deliverables of the team to meet deadlines to assist the business to deliver against its objectives and strategic goals
Desirable criteria:
+ Experience in the use of data architecture tooling i.e. Ardoq

CCS is a flexible business with a smarter working model where our colleagues benefit from a mix of home and office working. Successful candidates are expected to work from one of the office locations listed. Our current office attendance approach requires a minimum of 26 days per quarter (approx 2 days per week, which may be subject to change) in CCS office locations or off site meetings with suppliers, customers, partners, networking / industry events. This is pro rata for those who work part time.
