Our IT & Digital function is partnering with our business and using new technologies to help improve how we do our job - through cloud computing, artificial intelligence or machine learning, to name just a few. We nurture and connect our people by integrating data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities across the organisation. The Data 'Domain' involves developing strategies for different data types, business units, and innovation. A Data Associate role provides the chance to collaborate with experienced professionals, tackle diverse challenges, and work on projects related to data engineering, data science, analytics, and data innovation. This position allows individuals to gain valuable experience in shaping data-driven solutions and explore various domains before specializing. Some of your accountabilities will include:

  • Data Engineering: The construction, management, and optimisation of data pipelines.
  • Data Science and Analytics: Application of scientific methods, processes, algorithms, and systems to extract knowledge and insights from both structured and unstructured data.
  • Data Innovation: Leveraging of AI, Machine Learning (ML), and other emerging technologies to address and solve business challenges.
  • Data Operations: Management of deployed AI/ML projects., Our 12-week Internship offers you the opportunity to kickstart your career within the energy sector and discover your unique superpower. Throughout your placement, you'll receive a tailored development programme designed to support your growth and development. This includes a combination of in-person and virtual training sessions led by our development team, as well as access to a range digital learning tools to help further enhance your skills.
  • Throughout your placement you'll have opportunity to make connections amongst your cohort as well as regular check ins with a mentor and our Early Careers Team. Day-to-day, your placement manager will provide you access to a variety of on-the-job opportunities where you'll take on real assignments and projects to make a genuine impact within your respective function. By the end of your placement, you'll have developed your understanding of our business and the energy sector for your future career.

    You'll need to be on target to achieve a minimum 2:1 in a Computer Science, Data Science, Quantitative related degree discipline. You'll need flexibility to travel within role. To be eligible to apply for this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate that they will have the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of the graduate programme. If you do not currently have the right to work in the UK, or your visa is due to expire during the period of the graduate scheme, please indicate this in your application and we will consider your eligibility for visa sponsorship and whether it would be appropriate to take your application forward.
