Data Scientist

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, you will participate in the construction of new machine learning-based services. CHAMP launched its first 100% machine learning-based product in 2023 and plans to expand its portfolio in the coming year by integrating machine learning into existing products and developing new ones to capitalize on our market leader position., + Translate functional requirements into machine learning deliverables
+ Create and maintain datasets and models over time
+ Be able to prototype solutions.
+ Be a team player, collaborate with both external and internal parties to develop and support CHAMP's activities.
+ Actively explore new technological opportunities.
+ Listen to our customers, contribute to driving evolutions and improvements of our solutions.
+ Liaise with the BI team to get the datasets created, fed and maintained to ensure the proper functioning of the machine learning models
+ Support the development of new data products.
+ Provide expertise for, advice on and demonstrations of our ML solutions to both internal and external parties.
+ Deliver working solutions on time, on cost, and on specifications.
+ Ethics and Privacy: ensure ethical use of data and models by Implementing privacy-preserving techniques and comply with data protection regulations.

+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and familiarity with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.
+ Experience statistical software and libraries like Scikit-learn, Statsmodel, TensorFlow, Pytorch, Jax, Keras, others…
+ Experience in data handling software or languages SQL, MongoDB Query, ETL tools
+ Experience and/or Knowledge in general machine learning problems: forecasting, computer vision, natural language processing and understanding, feature engineering
+ Knowledge in collaborative development process MLOps, DEVOps and agile processes
+ Experienced to support the selection of sound architectures and technologies for the future.
+ Communication to enable a smooth flow of information between the dev and functional team in a multi-cultural environment.
+ Empathy and adaptability to help find the best trade-off between teams, technology capabilities and functional requirements.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Good knowledge of MS Office suite.
+ Good written and verbal command of English language is a must.
+ A plus: have a good knowledge and understanding of the air cargo business and industry or the logistics / supply chain business in general.
+ A plus: knowledge and experience of AWS and other cloud platform services.
+ A Plus: Profile and participation in Kaggle and or HuggingFace, GitHub (model machine learning related)
Education and Experience:
+ Education: Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
+ Experience: Proven experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
+ Minimum of 3 years' experience in ML development.
+ A plus: prior experience in a startup.
