Full Job Description

The role focuses on the application of the advanced statistics methods and complex quantitative analysis required to help stakeholders characterise the issues they face, the options they have, or to evaluate the impact of changes made. This requires the potholder to understand why analysis is being undertaken, how the outputs are intended to be used, as well as helping to define how we should undertake the particular method of analysis.

This role requires a clear thinking and methodical approach with strong quantitative and analytical skills. The post will involve working with multiple data sources including the Discover dataset.

The role of Data Scientist is to support parts of this type of complex change by bringing a breadth of statistical and analytical skills. The role also interfaces with others who play key roles in helping to design projects and products for stakeholders and clients.

The role includes active participation in the development and culture of ICHP as an organisation, sharing responsibility for making ICHP a great place to work. Applicants will be able to demonstrate behaviours that live our organisational values of collaboration, courage, quality, and impact., You will have client-facing responsibilities and provide support on data science projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Population health analytics to help understand the needs of patients within NWL and nationally and how current services can be re- shaped to meet these needs.

Create statistical models using patient level data from the real-world linked datasets e.g. Discover dataset.

Delivering on a range of data science projects to both public and private sector clients. Project usually require conducting and interpreting highly complex statistical analysis.

With support from the Quantitative Lead you will be able to understand what information is available to address a specific problem, as well as being able to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each approach.

Presenting complex data to large groups of people

Operate in an environment of significant complexity and ambiguity, taking time to understand the context of the operating environment and demonstrating good judgement (including seeking counsel from other when needed)

Designing and developing complex econometric models that are transparent and user-friendly
