Full Job Description

The purpose of this post is to utilise the patient administration and operational systems in Whittington Health to actively validate, track and manage the referral to treatment processes in a patient's pathway and 18 week target.
To escalate pathways to Operational, Service and Leads which are:-
+ Delayed due to insufficient clinical information to progress the patient's pathway.
+ Pathways that require an event or a scheduled event to be brought forward in line with their 18 week pathway.
+ Regular themes of wrongful data entry against the patient pathways
These process steps ensure a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment by Whittington Health.
In addition to pathway validation, the role will encompass daily and weekly monitoring to encourage business as usual processes and adherence to real time workflows within each ICSU., To ensure that national, local waiting times and targets are adhered to at all times.
To adhere to data quality workflows when applying correction processes to patient pathways.
To monitor and have ownership of data quality indicators impacting RTT pathways. Make recommendations for corrections or improvement of processes.
To have an understanding and appreciation of ICSU/Speciality areas not adhering to real times processes and the impact on patient pathways. Initiate or recommend corrective action or improvements to processes.
The navigation of administration and clinical system. To use the Whittington Health information systems to monitor patient's pathway progression, monitoring appointments and attendance through the use of Medway and other IT systems.
To observe legal and Trust data confidentiality, security and quality requirements.
To input and retrieve information from the departmental and/or Trust computer systems in accordance with departmental guidelines and information governance.
To work with a 'problem solving approach' in order to identify solutions resolving daily issues as they arise and escalate where appropriate.
An ability to assess complex pathways and correct appropriately and thoroughly.
To manage own workload and work autonomously
To implement improvements to the administrative element of the RTT pathway.
To proactively identifying emerging issues that may cause delays at any point in a patient's pathway, highlight improvements in the administration or any other aspect of the pathway, encouraging real time workflows.
To work closely with Line Manager, Operational Directors, Service Leads and multidisciplinary team to ensure all patients that are not scheduled due to insufficient capacity are managed chronologically.
To escalate any pathways without scanned referrals to confirm clock start dates.
To liaise with the relevant ICSU/departments regarding significant changes to patient pathways and escalate where appropriate to Service Leads and senior management as required.
To provide Operational Directors and Service Leads with information on the 18 weeks status of the patients when required.
Proven track record of working in NHS trusts and significant exposure to operational managers.
An excellent knowledge of workflows and data sets within relevant hospital systems.
Present complex and sometimes controversial information to challenging audiences.
Advanced IT skills and competence with Windows based media - Word, Outlook, Excel.
Excellent Communication and listening skills.
