Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and disciplined Database Administrator & Support Engineer with a decent experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in SQL, Airflow, Kafka, SFTP, Splunk, and ServiceNow, with expertise in handling large-scale projects and ensuring smooth production support.,

  • Support project applications such as SPA, DCSPLIT, PLIM, and FLOW.

  • Monitor, maintain, and enhance existing applications to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of issues.

  • Manage and support data ingestion and processing using Airflow DAGs, SQL, Kafka, and SFTP.

  • Perform data analysis, generate reports, and develop SQL queries.

  • Investigate job failures using logs, traces, and root cause analysis with tools like SQL and Splunk.

  • Collaborate with functional architects, analysts, and stakeholders to develop data solutions and meet SLAs.

  • Participate in incident bridge calls, provide high-impact incident resolutions, and maintain batch processing infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and procedures.

  • Coordinate with the Ops team for release management and track issues to ensure timely resolutions.

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

  • Monitor database performance, perform tuning, and optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.

  • Manage database backups, restores, and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and encryption.

  • Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patching to maintain up-to-date systems.

  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, indexes, and other database objects.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and connectivity problems.

  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for database management and security.

    Strong experience with SQL, including Stored Procedures, Views, Indexes, Joins, and Functions.

  • Hands-on experience with Airflow, Kafka, SFTP, and Splunk for batch monitoring and incident management.

  • Proficient in handling large and complex datasets, particularly in CSV and Parquet file formats.

  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to transform processes to meet daily SLAs.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) and experience with database administration tasks.
