Day Driver

(a) Responsible to: Company Owner
(b) Responsible for (subordinates): Not Applicable
(c) Working Hours: up to 50 hours per week, As a taxi driver for A1 Cars you will be responsible for transporting clients to and from their destination on time via the fleet car you are assigned for that shift. You will be responsible for processing payments and ensuring the journey remains pleasant and safe.
Using the company phone you will be responsible for taking bookings from the individual responsible for despatching jobs and also taking booking queries and reporting them to the designated individual taking job bookings that day.
Have a full understanding of how to use the onboard taximeter and ensure this is used for the tracking of every trip on the appropriate tariff. Training for this will be given.
You will be responsible for the fuelling of the vehicle using the Company fuel card for the car you have been assigned for your shift and keeping the vehicle clean and safe inside and out.
At the end of each day it is essential that all paperwork and account work is completed to ensure that you are ready for the submission of your end of week logs which will include a tallied float.

3. Key Tasks:

Collect and driving Clients to their destination and collecting payment which is calculated by meter unless told otherwise by the dispatcher.
Be responsible for and processing cash payments, documenting daily journeys and mileage and making sure that sufficient change is carried at all times (float).

Be able to identify the fastest route applicable for the journey.

Be aware of road regulations and always adhering to them.

Uphold the high service standards of the Business.

Ensure that the vehicle remains clean and in excellent working condition.

Full UK Driving Licence with at least two years driving experience
Dual West Berkshire Hackney Licence or be willing to apply for one
Up to date Safe Guarding training or be willing to undertake
Up to date Disability Awareness or be willing to undertake
Good verbal and written understanding of the English Language.
(f) Essential Experience and Attributes:
Prior experience in a similar position would be beneficial
Familiarity with GPS and navigational tools
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Dealing with cash and electronic payments
Well groomed with a professional appearance in the the uniform provided.
